Announcements in 2017

The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit proposes to amend its Local Rules.  These amendments are subject to public notice and comment under 28 U.S.C. § 2071(b).  The proposed amendments would modify the related-case disclosure requirements in Federal Circuit Rules 47.4 and 47.5.  The proposed revisions are available here

Comments and suggested changes by members of the public must be submitted by the close of business on September 1, 2017, to chiefdeputyclerk@cafc.uscourts.gov with a subject line of “Proposed Rules Comments.”  Please include the name and return email address (if different than the address from which the email comment is sent) of the person submitting the comment.  

For members of the public without access to email, comments and suggested changes may also be submitted by mail to Proposed Rules Comments, Clerk’s Office, U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit, 717 Madison Place, N.W., Washington, D.C. 20439.

The Court’s public website will be unavailable due to planned maintenance from 6:00 pm EST, Friday, July 14, 2017 to approximately 6:00 pm EST, Saturday, July 15, 2017. We regret any inconvenience. CM/ECF and PACER will be unaffected.

The United States Court of Appeals will have a 3-hour delayed opening. Court Staff are authorized up to a 3 hour delay from their routine reporting time. Unscheduled leave and telecommuting is authorized as approved by supervisors. Chambers staffs should follow the policy of their respective judges.

The Court’s Case Management/Electronic Case Files (CM/ECF) system will be unavailable for electronic filing and PACER access due to national infrastructure maintenance from 10:00 pm EST, Friday, March 10, 2017 to approximately 4:00 am EST, Saturday, March 11, 2017. Please do not attempt any transactions during this time.

There will be a brief maintenance outage from 6:30 PM to 6:45 PM. Access to Oral Arguments will be unavailable during this brief time.
