In light of the continued lapse in appropriations for a portion of the federal government, the court has issued an order providing for the continuation of court operations, including arguments scheduled during the January 2019 court sitting.  As a reminder of the court’s holiday closing schedule, the Federal Circuit previously announced it would be closed on December 31, 2018, and January 1, 2019.

In the event of a federal government shutdown on Saturday, December 22, 2018, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will remain open for business and will be fully staffed to provide all normal judicial business functions until further notice from the court.  All filing deadlines will remain in effect and CM/ECF will remain operational for filing of all documents.  The full notice is available on our website. As a reminder of the holiday closing schedule, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will be closed on December 24 and 25, 2018 and December 31, 2018, and January 1, 2019. Beginning January 2, 2019, the court will begin using a new format for its mandates. Litigants, members of the bar, and the public may notice a change in the format of this item on the court’s docket as of that date.

Users may experience intermittent access to CM/ECF on Saturday, December 15, 2018, from 5:00AM-1:00PM (Eastern) due to an extended routine maintenance window for national system updates.

The Clerk’s Office and the Circuit Library phone service and customer service counter in the National Courts Building will be closed on Wednesday, December 12, 2018, from 1:00 p.m. to 3 p.m.  This closure does not affect electronic filing.
