Announcements in 2019

Pursuant to 28 U.S.C. § 1914(b), the Judicial Conference of the United States has approved a new fee of $47.00 for the issuance of an apostille beginning October 1, 2019.  An updated and expanded fee schedule will be available on our website as of that date.

Service has been restored to the electronic filing system (CM/ECF) of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit.  Given the limited duration of the system outage and the time at which service was restored, all electronic filing deadlines for August 27, 2019 remain in effect.

The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit's electronic filing system (CM/ECF) is experiencing technical difficulties and as such electronic filing is currently inaccessible.  At this time, there is no estimated time as to when services will be fully restored but additional information will be posted once it becomes available.  Meanwhile, counsel should review Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 26(a) and Federal Circuit Rule 25(c)(1)(J) regarding time-sensitive filings due during this period of technical inaccessibility for any filings due on August 27, 2019.

The U.S. Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit is pleased to announce that it intends to sit in Dallas and Fort Worth, Texas as part of its October 2019 session.  The Federal Circuit will continue to hold its regular session in Washington, D.C.  The full notice is available here.

Effective October 1, 2019, the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit will no longer automatically consider weather-related closures as legal holidays for purposes of Federal Rule of Appellate Procedure 26.  The full notice, including the new procedure for handling deadlines for electronic and paper filings, is available on the court’s website.
