The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit issued a notice on June 20, 2008 announcing proposed amendments to its Internal Operating Procedures (IOP). The proposed IOPs are available here . Note that revised material is shown in green, stricken material is shown by strikethrough, and new material is underlined. These amendments are subject to public notice and comment under 28 U.S.C. § 2071(b). Those planning to submit comments on the proposed changes must follow the format set out in the "Format for Proposing Changes to Federal Circuit Rules & IOPs” available here . Public comments are due by July 18, 2008.

Addressing attendees at the court’s Judicial Conference, Chief Judge Paul R. Michel affirmed that “The State of the Court is characterized by great experience, extraordinary diversity, intense engagement, national integration, growing efficiency and increasing expedition.” Read the full text of the Chief Judge’s address here .

On May 15, 2008, the Federal Circuit held its Judicial Conference at the Grand Hyatt Washington. Chief Justice Roberts, the court's circuit justice, attended and Solicitor General Paul Clement was the luncheon speaker.
Revised Appellate Mediation Guidelines and Forms, effective May 1, 2008, have been issued. Forms can be filled-in online using Adobe Acrobat.
