Using detailed statistics charts , Chief Judge Paul Michel presented an overview of the Federal Circuit's caseload to members of the Edward Coke Appellate Inn of Court at the Inn's March 5, 2009 meeting. These charts include information on the types of appeals filed at the Federal Circuit, details on the results of decisions on district court infringement appeals, information on petitions for rehearing en banc, pendency time of appeals, number of petitions for writs of certiorari in Federal Circuit cases and mediation statistics. Several of the charts compare the Federal Circuit's workload with that of the other circuit courts of appeals.

Circuit Judge Richard Linn gave the keynote address to the U.S. Patent and Trademark Office Society at their Annual Meeting in Alexandria, Virginia. A copy of his speech, entitled "Perspectives on Becoming a Successful Examiner", can be found at this link .

The United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit's Mediation Program has issued statistical reports of its activites for the fourth quarter and calendar year 2008 .

On February 2, 2009, the Court began posting electronic versions of orders processed through the Office of the Senior Staff Attorney (SSA) on or after January 30, 2009. To search for orders, click here. Most orders processed through SSA will now include an electronic signature of the Clerk of the Court rather than a handwritten signature. If an order was approved or authored by a judge or panel of judges, the order will include the name of that judge or judges.
