2018 Federal Circuit Judicial Conference

You are invited to attend the Circuit Judicial Conference of the United States Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit on Friday, March 16, 2018.  Morning sessions will include moderated panels composed of judges from the Court of Appeals for the Federal Circuit and judges and officials from tribunals within the Federal Circuit’s jurisdiction. There will also be a panel to discuss recent issues involving Chevron, U.S.A., Inc. v. Natural Resources Defense Counsel, Inc.

The Honorable John G. Roberts, Jr., Chief Justice of the United States will address the audience, and Senator Orrin Hatch will deliver the keynote address. Afternoon breakout sessions will address current issues arising within the Federal Circuit’s jurisdiction, including Patent and Trademark and International Trade, as well as actions heard before the United States Court of Federal Claims, the Boards of Contract Appeals, the United States Merit Systems Protection Board, and the United States Court of Appeals for Veterans Claims.

The conference offers the opportunity to engage in discussion that advances the administration of justice and promotes the long-standing tradition of collegiality within the Federal Circuit. The conference is authorized “for the purpose of considering the business of the courts and advising means of improving the administration of justice within the circuit.” 28 U.S.C. § 333.
