Circuit Judge Richard Linn was awarded the Jefferson Medal by the New Jersey Intellectual Property Law Association on Friday, June 5, 2009 at the Hilton at Short Hills in Short Hills, New Jersey. The Jefferson Medal is awarded to a person who has made exceptional contributions to the field of patents, trademarks, or copyrights. For a copy of his speech, click link .

Circuit Judge Richard Linn received the 2009 NYIPLA Leadership Award at the association's Annual Meeting and Awards Dinner held at The University Club in New York City on Wednesday, May 20, 2009. Judge Linn gave the keynote address at the dinner, which can be found at this link .

Chief Judge Paul R. Michel will speak at the American Intellectual Property Law Association’s Spring Meeting. Chief Judge Michel will discuss litigating damage apportionment issues as part of the panel entitled “Patent Litigation: From Discovery Though Appeal” on Thursday, May 14, 2009. Circuit Judge Kimberly Moore will speak at the first Law Symposium on Intellectual Property presented by the George Washington University Law School on Friday, May 12, 2009 at the law school. This is the first of a planned annual symposium which aims to bring together “colleagues from private practice, the judiciary, government, economic consulting groups and academia to address current issues and recent developments in intellectual property.” For conference and registration information, click on this link.
